The Year 6 children who did not attend the residential visit had an amazing time last week. On Monday activities included taking and replanting cuttings from a fallen willow tree as well as painting and a K'Nex competition. Tuesday saw the children as potters, when they made bowls and other items which will be fired once they have dried. They also made a Maori Mask Pole.

On Wednesday the group visited Rye Town Model and completed a tour of Rye using the audio guide, stopping at Cappachini in Cinque Ports Street for a delicious ice cream. In the afternoon Lucy came along from Rye Harbour Nature Reserve to check the willow planting.

Thursday morning included a visit to the market to buy fruit and vegetables, the children then came back to school and made home-made bread and fresh soup followed by fresh fruit smoothies. The lady who sells plants outside the Rope Walk Arcade very kindly donated some bedding plants and seeds for the pots in the willow corner. In the afternoon the group held a film club.

They rounded the week of on Friday with a creative day which included archery lessons, painting and making a power point of the week. Wow! What a fun week Year 6 had!
