Mr Playford was given something rather amazing and puzzling from the school builders recently. While they were digging to build the new school extension one of the builders found two very old pieces of paper. One was a letter and one was a story and a map.
When Mr Playford read the letter and story he soon discovered it was written by an explorer from the Arctic. Mr Playford knew that Year 3 were currently learning about Antarctica and the Arctic so he took the letter and story straight to them. When Mr Gurr and Miss Brunton read the letter and story they couldn't believe their eyes. The letter and story had to be over 50 years old! Year 3 are currently trying to find out about this explorer and how the story and map could have ever ended up in Rye!
