The Year 5 & 6 Football Team played in the Oliver Curd Tournament in Peasmarsh last week.

As defending champions, the pressure was on the boys to retain their title. They played brilliantly in their first game and with goals from Fred and Stan they beat Beckley 2 - 0. The team then faced Peasmarsh who played well against them and it was a scrappy game. Despite all the chances they drew 0 - 0.

They qualified in the semi-final and faced a very good Guestling team. The team started fast and with a superb strike from Fred they took the lead. They battled on, both teams had chances but they held on to their 1 - 0 win which put them in the final where they were up against Winchelsea.

The game was very close, both teams standing strong then Dec took a throw-in, which caused chaos in the Winchelsea box and was turned in by one of their defenders. It was once again a very close game with Captain Liam making his trademark crunching tackles and Kian making some fantastic saves.

Kian took a brilliant goal kick which landed at Fred's feet for him to calmly slot through the keeper's legs into the goal, 2.- 0. They game ended shortly after and the boys were once again crowned champions.

They were all brilliant and performed their roles to the best of their ability. Well done boys and thank you to everyone who went along to support the team!
