Year 1 had an amazing time when they visited Port Lympne Zoo last Friday.

It was a slightly overcast and drizzly start to the morning but thankfully they were on the Safari buses for the worst part of the weather. Despite the cold they were still able to spot many African and Asian animals and were very lucky to get close to a giraffe family!

By the time they started their long walk up through the zoo more animals were starting to appear and they saw tigers, cheetahs, cheeky monkeys (not the children!) and gorillas, where a rather feisty silverback decided to show them who was boss.

The stars of the trip were most definitely the children who were well behaved, polite, curious and knowledgeable. They were very proud to be on a trip as Rye Primary!
